A travel loan is an unsecured consumer loan designed to help cover travel-related expenses such as airline tickets, accommodation, travel insurance, or other expenses associated with a vacation trip.

It is a flexible financing solution that offers you freedom and suits your needs: you can apply for exactly the amount you need for your trip and choose the repayment period that suits you best.

How much can I borrow and what does it depend on?

The loan amount and repayment terms depend on your individual ability to pay and the terms of the loan. In general, travel loans range from a few hundred to a few thousand euros. The loan is repaid in fixed monthly installments according to the payment schedule.

Is applying for a travel loan complicated?

Absolutely not! Applying for a travel loan is done digitally and the process is quick. Log in to the ESTO portal (use your ID card, Mobile ID, Smart ID, or password authentication to log in) and submit your application in the self-service portal.

Submitting an application takes only a minute, and your application will be reviewed immediately. If approved, sign the agreement and the money will be transferred to your account within one business day after signing the agreement. Are there any restrictions on applying for a loan?

You can apply for an ESTO travel loan if you are between 19 and 70 years old at the time of application, your permanent or main place of residence is in Estonia, and you have a regular income in Estonia. It is important that you have no active payment defaults or previous serious payment delays and that your income and financial obligations are balanced, allowing you to repay the loan regularly.

How long a loan period can be applied for?

You can apply for a travel loan with a very flexible repayment period ranging from a few months to ten years (i.e. up to 120 months). ESTO assesses each application individually in order to offer you a repayment schedule that suits your budget and travel plans.

Is collateral required to obtain a travel loan?

Travel loans are part of ESTO's consumer loans and are completely unsecured. An unsecured loan means that you do not need a guarantor or real estate. All you need to do is be well aware of your travel budget, whether it be for accommodation, flight tickets, or other expenses, and carefully fill out the application. If you have any questions, our customer manager will clarify everything you need to know.

What is the interest rate on a travel loan and what are the other costs?

The exact percentage of your travel loan depends on your creditworthiness and loan terms. The main costs associated with the loan are interest and contract fees, administration fees, or other service fees, which you can find in the self-service environment when filling out the application. If anything seems complicated during the initial application process, our customer support will be happy to help you.

Before signing the contract, we strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with the annual percentage rate, which gives a comprehensive overview of the total cost of the loan and helps you estimate your monthly payments.

What does the cost of credit rate mean?

The annual percentage rate (APR) indicates the actual total annual cost of the loan as a percentage of the loan amount. This indicator takes into account both interest and all other costs related to the loan (e.g., contract fees, administration or service fees). The annual percentage rate helps you objectively compare offers from different lenders and understand which one is most favorable for you.

How are repayments made?

Monthly invoices can be paid in the ESTO self-service environment, where you can log in to view all your loan agreements and payment schedules. If you wish, you can also make early repayments or pay your invoices via your home bank as a regular transfer.Each month, you will receive a joint invoice for all active ESTO agreements, and you will find the necessary details on the invoice or in the self-service environment.

Is it possible to repay the loan early?

Yes, you can easily repay your travel loan early in the ESTO self-service environment by adding the repayment amount to the final balance displayed in the system. You will not have to pay interest on unused credit in the future, which will help you save money.

What happens if I cannot make my loan payment on time?

If you see that your loan payment may be delayed or you will not be able to make it on time, contact ESTO customer support immediately at [email protected]. Our team will help you find a solution, such as extending your payment schedule or offering you a payment holiday of up to three months. Early communication helps avoid additional costs and ensures that your credit history remains clean.

Yes. ESTO uses secure data processing and authentication tools (e.g., Smart-ID, Mobile-ID, ID card, or password to access self-service) to ensure the protection of customer data and secure application submission. The annual percentage rate for the small loan of ESTO AS is 46.45% under the following example conditions: loan amount 1000 EUR, fixed interest rate 16.70% per year, contract fee 0 EUR, monthly administration fee 3.90 EUR, the total amount of the loan and repayments is 1222.15 EUR, provided that the loan is repaid within 12 months in equal monthly instalments of 101.85 EUR.
